What is the Virtual Endoscope?

The virtual endoscope provides a first-person perspective inside the spine for exploring spinal anatomy in 3D. Virtual endoscope view

Capabilities

  • Navigate through spinal canal and foramina
  • Visualize vertebral surfaces and disc boundaries up close
  • Virtual bone removal (material removal)
  • Tissue manipulation (grab and push)
  • Adjust camera depth, distance, and roll angle

Prerequisites

The Endoscope requires completed segmentation meshes. If no meshes are available, the Endoscope button is disabled with a prompt to run segmentation first.

Automatic State Changes

When entering Endoscope mode, the app automatically:
  • Shows all meshes (if hidden)
  • Turns off Mesh Cut
  • Turns off Mesh Transparency
  • Enables all labels
  • Sets camera to COR preset
  • Sets clip position to 50%

Constraints

  • Activating Endoscope automatically deactivates Scouter mode.
  • Activating Endoscope automatically deactivates Pointer, W/L, and Ruler tools.
