Overview

The virtual bone removal feature allows you to remove bone material and visualize the structures beneath.

Activation

Toggle Drilling mode in the endoscope controls panel.

Usage

With drilling active:
  1. Click and drag on the mesh surface to remove material.
  2. Material is removed in the area under the cursor.
  3. The removal uses a smoothstep falloff for natural-looking results.
  4. Depth is limited to 0.3 mm per interaction to prevent accidental over-drilling.

Undo

Use the Backup/Restore controls to undo drilling operations:
  • Backup — Save the current mesh state before drilling.
  • Restore — Revert to the last saved state.
Always create a backup before starting a drilling session so you can easily undo if needed.
