# Endoscope Overview

> Virtual endoscopy for exploring spinal anatomy from inside

## What is the Virtual Endoscope?

The virtual endoscope provides a **first-person perspective** inside the spine for exploring spinal anatomy in 3D.

## Capabilities

* Navigate through spinal canal and foramina
* Visualize vertebral surfaces and disc boundaries up close
* Virtual bone removal (material removal)
* Tissue manipulation (grab and push)
* Adjust camera depth, distance, and roll angle

## Prerequisites

<Warning>
  The Endoscope requires **completed segmentation meshes**. If no meshes are available, the Endoscope button is disabled with a prompt to run segmentation first.

## Automatic State Changes

When entering Endoscope mode, the app automatically:

* Shows all meshes (if hidden)
* Turns off Mesh Cut
* Turns off Mesh Transparency
* Enables all labels
* Sets camera to COR preset
* Sets clip position to 50%

## Constraints

* Activating Endoscope automatically deactivates **Scouter** mode.
* Activating Endoscope automatically deactivates **Pointer**, **W/L**, and **Ruler** tools.
