# Virtual Bone Removal

> Remove bone material in the virtual endoscope

## Overview

The virtual bone removal feature allows you to remove bone material and visualize the structures beneath.

## Activation

Toggle **Drilling** mode in the endoscope controls panel.

## Usage

With drilling active:

1. **Click and drag** on the mesh surface to remove material.
2. Material is removed in the area under the cursor.
3. The removal uses a **smoothstep falloff** for natural-looking results.
4. Depth is limited to **0.3 mm per interaction** to prevent accidental over-drilling.

## Undo

Use the **Backup/Restore** controls to undo drilling operations:

* **Backup** — Save the current mesh state before drilling.
* **Restore** — Revert to the last saved state.

  Always create a backup before starting a drilling session so you can easily undo if needed.
