# Adaptive Clip Plane

> Automatic clip plane alignment to spinal curvature

## Overview

The Adaptive clip plane automatically adjusts its angle to follow the natural curvature of the spine, providing cross-sections aligned to the spinal curvature at each vertebral level.

## How It Works

1. The app analyzes the axial image profile to detect spinal curvature.
2. As you move the clip plane position slider, the tilt angles adjust automatically.
3. The result is a clip plane that is always perpendicular to the spine at the current level.

## Activation

In the **Slice** section of the right panel, click the **Adaptive** button (next to the tilt controls).

  Adaptive mode is disabled when no axial image profile is available. In this case, only Manual mode can be used.
